About this site
This site has been mainly constructed to spread the word about the dangers caused by the speed limiters which are being fitted to our vehicles. Here you'll find out how speed limiters work, what they do, and the effect they have on drivers. You'll also see why the number of lorry drivers killed in road accidents has increased by 24% since they were fitted.

Car drivers take note! You might be thinking "This doesn't affect me because I don't drive a lorry", but it does. For one thing you have to share the roads with speed-limited lorries, but for another they're planning to fit them to cars. The European Union passed legislation in early 1997 which would allow them to limit the top speed of cars. All they're waiting for is the right time to do it. Many new cars are already fitted with limiters, (the Audi A80 and Jaguar XK8 among them), but the limiters are set to something silly like 180 mph. (If you've got a cruise control you can almost guarantee you've also got a limiter because the same machinery does both jobs.) As soon as the law is passed requiring cars to be limited, it's just a matter of taking the car into your local dealer for him to reset the limiter, and that's it. Your car will never go above the set speed ever again. "Well", you're thinking, "If they set them to 75 or 80 mph it wouldn't be too bad". Think again! Guess what speed they want to set them to? 62mph (100 km/h). That's right, sixty two miles per hour. Once your limiter's set you'll never go over 62mph again. Ever.

Most of this website consists of copies of articles, written by me, which have appeared in various British magazines in the last few years on the subject of speed limiters. I speak from personal experience, because I was a professional lorry driver for about 15 years, mostly on articulated vehicles, and for three or four years (before I gave up driving lorries because speed limiters made it too dangerous) I drove over 150,000 miles in lorries fitted with speed limiters. I'm absolutely convinced that they cause danger. This belief has been borne out by the sudden increase in the number of lorry drivers killed as soon as limiters became compulsory in Britain.

Unfortunately Britain is currently run by Bureaucrats from the European Union, who won't let a little thing like the deaths of a few drivers deter them from their dream of controlling everything we do. They, and the collaborators within the British political parties and Civil Service, plan to fit limiters to cars as well, set to 62mph (100km/h). They're obsessed with speed, as if that's the only thing which causes road accidents. Bad driving causes accidents, but to understand what bad driving is you have to have a deep understanding of the complex business of driving. They don't have that understanding, so they concentrate on speed. Speed is the only thing about driving you can actually quantify, and bureaucrats like numbers. They don't understand driving, but they can understand numbers. Couple this with a desire to force us all out of our cars by making driving as unpleasant as possible, and you can see why they want to fit speed limiters to everything, and put so-called "traffic calming" everywhere, which again causes accidents and annoys drivers and local residents, usually to no good purpose.

I welcome any genuine Guestbook postings. However, because of the number of SPAM postings recently I've made the Guestbook 'Moderated', so entries won't be seen until I've approved them. Any entries which are just adverts will be immediately and ruthlessly deleted before ANYBODY sees them, so spammers, take your shit somewhere else.
Aren't spammers stupid? I post the message above telling them that their messages will never make it onto my Guestbook, and STILL they waste their time posting their rubbish about Viagra and casinos which no-one will ever see...
